We ask for only what we need to take your booking and look after you — and we treat it with care.
Who we are
Sarana curates and books locally led cultural experiences in Sri Lanka. This policy explains what personal information we collect through saranalanka.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, contact us at hello@saranalanka.com.
What we collect
- Booking & enquiry details — your name, email, phone / WhatsApp number, the experience and dates you choose, group size, and anything you tell us in a message.
- Payment details — card payments are processed by our gateway, PayHere. Your card number is entered on PayHere’s secure page; Sarana never sees or stores your full card details.
- Usage data — privacy-first, aggregated analytics about how pages are used (see “Analytics” below). We do not build advertising profiles.
How we use it
To take and confirm your booking, arrange your experience with the relevant keeper or venue, send confirmations and reminders, answer your questions, and improve the site. We rely on your consent and on the need to perform the booking you’ve asked for.
Payments
Online card payments are handled by PayHere, a licensed Sri Lankan payment gateway, over an encrypted connection. Sarana does not store your card details. PayHere processes your payment under its own privacy and security terms.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used and how fast it loads. These are privacy-first and do not use advertising cookies or track you across other websites — which is why you won’t see a cookie-consent banner for tracking.
Who we share it with
Only where needed to deliver your experience or run the service: the keeper, artisan, or venue hosting your session; and trusted service providers such as our payment gateway (PayHere) and email/messaging tools, who may only use it to provide their service to us. We never sell your data, and we may disclose information if required by law.
Keeping & deleting your data
We keep your information for as long as needed to manage your booking and meet legal or accounting obligations. After around three years of inactivity we automatically anonymise your personal details (your name, email, and phone), keeping only the anonymised booking records our accounts require. You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to stop contacting you, at any time — just email hello@saranalanka.com.
