Born in the mist-veiled Dumbara Valley near Kandy, Dumbara weaving is geometric, deliberate and deeply sacred — its patterns unchanged for centuries. Seated at the loom with Mister Dharmadasa, you learn to read the bold angular motifs that once dressed kings and, thread by thread, weave your own small piece. There is a rhythm here that asks you to be present; the loom does not rush, and neither will you.
